Postcards from Koh Phangan (Part 1) – nomad life is always full of surprises!

This year hasn’t gone to plan at all, as is life. There have been both surprise and planned celebrations, unexpected worries, little hiccups along the way providing challenges/hurdles and also impromptu surprise opportunities.

How are we almost reaching the end of 2019? How are we reaching the end of a decade? Can time slow down please. 🙂

We always tell everyone how we aim to stay in places for 2-3 months. Because of family commitments our recent stay on the island, Koh Phangan in Thailand, was broken into two month segments with a one month gap in between.

It still counts though right?

This year hasn’t gone to plan at all, as is life.

There have been both surprise and planned celebrations, unexpected worries, little hiccups along the way providing challenges/hurdles and also impromptu surprise opportunities.

I’d still always say to everyone: do make plans, stay flexible, stay open, have plans B through D (or more!) ready for the times it doesn’t work out, stay grateful for the things that did work out well.

Finally, most importantly, no matter what happens enjoy the ride and all of the surprises that come your way!

Who knows what 2020 will bring us all. We have a rough plan for next year. I expect the year will look nothing like these plans.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

~ Dr. Seuss (Oh the places you will go.)

And, Oh the places we will all go!
